2014 / 05 / 02    Associated Seafoods to Promote Salmon and Shellfish Range at Seafood Expo Global

SCOTLAND, UK - Following the successful completion of a major upgrade of its processing facility in Buckie, Scotland, Associated Seafoods Ltd (ASL) is now looking forward to the forthcoming Seafood Expo Global exhibition in Brussels where it will be showcasing its range of top-end Scottish smoked salmon and shellfish products.

The refurbishment project included the provision of a new high class food manufacturing unit, providing the platform for ASL to innovate and develop a new range of seafood products in its ultra-modern BRC Approved Grade A status processing facility.

Graham Anderson, Shellfish Business Director, said: “Innovation is at the very heart of our future strategic business development plan and we are currently in the process of developing a new range of high-end seafood products.”

Whilst langoustines and Scottish smoked salmon form the core of ASL’s business, the company has also recently turned its focus onto crab and scallop processing, using locally caught shellfish from the Scottish fishing fleet. This has already resulted in ASL recently winning a Grampian Food Forum Award for its new range of potted crab products.

Henry Angus, Salmon Business Director for ASL, added: “The forthcoming Brussels seafood exhibition provides the perfect opportunity for us to promote our processing and supply capabilities to a global market. We are proud of the Scottish provenance of our seafood and the care that we take in handling and processing it.”

Seafood Expo Global will be held from 6 to 8 May in Brussels. Associated Seafoods will be exhibiting on the Scottish Pavilion in Hall 9.
